Daily EXHIBIT - Hudson Valley Art Association Artists

The gallery has given continuous exposure to plein air painters since 1972. Many nationally known artists are painting, just like they did 150 years ago, in and around Bar Harbor. Daily TOUR - Criterion Theatre
Criterion Theatre, 35 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor
Since 1932, the Art Deco style Criterion Theatre has provided the island the best in live and motion picture entertainment. View the sharply angled walls, large flying balcony, and proscenium arch and huge chandelier, which are a part of one of the island's treasures, complete with stories and view of non-public areas. Art will be on display throughout Legacy week in traditional as well as non-traditional, locations in the community: lodging establishments, museums, galleries, offices, banks, retail shops and restaurants. Keep an eye out for something truly unique.

FATHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

With family and friends, enjoy the island and the sea on Father's Day. Take Dad to a movie, dinner, boating or shopping. Help kick off the festival with the first concert of the week.

Families are invited to come together to honor father, musician and Bar Harbor resident, Masanobu Ikemiya, with the Acadia Arts Achievement Award. Then be treated to a round of ragtime piano music like you've never heard before.

11:00AM-12:00PM - PRESENTATION - Saving Thankful Cottage
The Bar Harbor Preservation Trust will present a short slideshow and talk on the move of the 1850's "Thankful Cottage" from Cottage Street to Billings Avenue. Saved from demolition by relocation and rehabilitation, the cottage is an example of how fishermen and carpenters lived in the 1800's. Meet at the otter fountain at the corner of West Street and Billings Avenue. For more information call 288-4229.
